Constance Maritime's new complete CCTV surveillance system delivery
It is reported that Kongsberg Maritime has delivered a new complete CCTV system to the US Coast Guard's "Polar Star" (WAGB-10) heavy icebreaker.
The CCTV surveillance system delivered to the "Polar Star" was delivered in 2013 to the sister ship "Healy Polar" after the delivery of the CCTV surveillance system. The "Polar Star" is one of the largest ships of the US Coast Guard and one of the most powerful non-nuclear power icebreakers in the world. Although the ship was commissioned in 1976, it entered the state of temporary agency in 2006, when the crew was reduced, but the ship remained back to icebreaking. In 2013, the “Polar Star†icebreaker was re-used and once again assumed various icebreaking tasks in all polar regions.
Kongsberg Maritime's CCTV surveillance system is a harsh environment offshore platform with a scalable range of surveillance. The platform combines high-quality interior design with improved shelf (MOTS) video camera stations, telemetry and control components.
Because the exposed camera on the "Polar Star" is made of stainless steel, it can withstand the harsh exposed marine environment and extreme low temperatures. Many of the system components of CCTV surveillance systems meet the highest naval anti-vibration, vibration, electromagnetic interference, temperature and humidity specifications. The CCTV surveillance system on the Polar Star consists of a series of fixed cameras with zoom capability and a pan, tilt and zoom (PTZ) camera, as well as a ship-level camera station above the exposed deck. These cameras will utilize a high resolution to optically amplify 18x color/single sensor from low brightness and have an integrated wiper system.
It is understood that Kongsberg Maritime's new CCTV surveillance system will provide improved video image quality, more flexible control, power conditioning, viewing, recording options, and maximum durability in some of the harshest ocean conditions. High-quality images will be distributed throughout the 400-foot ship through a large video matrix, and full control of all cameras will be achieved through a telemetry keyboard with a three-axis joystick.
