The National Science and Technology Conference unveiled 2005 National Science and Technology Awards 45 chemical projects won one or two prizes

At the National Science and Technology Conference held in Beijing on January 9, the 2005 National Science and Technology Award was announced. Among the 247 award-winning general-purpose science and technology projects, 45 chemical and chemical projects received one or two prizes, accounting for nearly 20% of the total number of award-winning projects.
It is understood that the first prize for the 2005 National Technology Invention Award was the innovation and integration project of an amorphous alloy catalyst and magnetically stabilized bed reaction process completed by Prof. Enze Zeng of China Petrochemical Institute of Stone Science and Technology. This is the second time after the last two chemical new material projects broke the vacancy for six consecutive years and won the first prize of the National Technological Invention Award. The chemical project once again won this title. This achievement organically combines metallurgical and chemical technologies. It has achieved industrial production for the first time worldwide, and has obtained 26 national invention patents and 4 foreign invention patents. Twelve chemical engineering projects such as the development and industrial application of high-efficiency deoxidizers for polyolefins won the second prize for the Technological Invention Award.
The Tarim Basin high-pressure condensate gas field development technology research and application projects undertaken by PetroChina Tarim Oilfield Company were awarded the first prize of the 2005 National Science and Technology Progress Award. Twenty-five chemical engineering projects such as research and development and industrial application of clean production technology for cumene were awarded the second prize for scientific and technological progress.
In addition, six chemical projects such as direct catalytic dehydrogenation of methane to new reactions of aromatics and hydrogen have won the second prize of the Natural Science Award.
According to experts participating in the National Science and Technology Awards selection, 45 chemical engineering award-winning projects have shown significant innovations in key technologies and system integration, and have been widely used and promoted, resulting in huge economic and social benefits, highlighting the In recent years, the fruitful achievements of the chemical industry have shown that the scientific and technological innovation capability of China's chemical industry has continuously improved.
David G., member of the Royal Society of Chemistry Five people including Dr. Evans won the People's Republic of China International Science and Technology Cooperation Award this year.
The total number of awards for the current National Natural Science Award and the Technological Invention Award has significantly increased, reaching 38 and 40 respectively, and the total number of winning projects has increased by nearly 39% compared with 2004.
It was also learned that the 2005 National Highest Science and Technology Award was awarded to Academician Ye Yizheng of the Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Academician Wu Mengchao of the Eastern Hepatobiliary Surgery Hospital of the Second Military Medical University. The first prize of the National Natural Science Award in 2005 was once again vacant.
