Jaguar's sales in China and July surged

On August 12, Jaguar Land Rover released data that in July this year, the company's global sales increased by 21% year-on-year, a cumulative increase of 15%. In the top market, China returned to high-speed growth, which increased by 36% last month, clearly exceeding the level of around 10% in the previous two months.

Overall sales: Jaguar surge

In July this year, Jaguar Land Rover sold 31,611 vehicles worldwide, and in July 2012, it sold 26,018 vehicles, an increase of 21.5% year-on-year. The increase was higher than the average growth rate of 14% in the first half of this year.

The Jaguar brand accounted for 19.5% of the previous month, with 6,157 units sold in the month, a surge of 65.3% year-on-year, and 3,724 units in the same period last year. The Land Rover brand contributed 80.5% of the total, with sales of 25,454 units for the month, an increase of 14.2% year-on-year and 22,294 units for the same period last year.

From January to July 2013, Jaguar Land Rover accumulated global sales of 241,801 units, a year-on-year increase of 14.9% on the basis of 210,384 units during the same period last year. Which Jaguar brand from 32,793 vehicles increased by 33.5% to 43,793 vehicles, accounting for 18.1% of the Group's sales volume; Land Rover brand from 177,591 vehicles increased by 11.5% to 198,008 units, accounting for 81.9% of the Group's sales.

Regional sales: China ranks first

In July of this year, sales of Jaguar Land Rover in the Chinese market continued to grow at a rapid rate, which was an increase of 36.3% year-on-year, from 7,373 units in July last year to 7,326 units. From January to July, Jaguar Land Rover accumulated sales of 49,480 units in China, compared with 41,838 units in the same period of last year, an increase of 18.3% year-on-year.

In 2012, China leapt to Jaguar Land Rover’s largest single market, and sales have been lower than in the United Kingdom in multiple months this year.

Jaguar Land Rover sales in China fell in February with the overall auto market, lower than the United Kingdom. March is the peak season for the British car market. Jaguar Land Rover sales have almost doubled that of China.

In April, Jaguar Land Rover sales in China increased by 10%, and China returned to the largest single market. Since then, the status of the top spot has been further consolidated. In May, sales of Jaguar Land Rover in China increased by 11%, rising by 16% in June.
