The second round table of electric vehicle initiative was held in Shenzhen

On November 7, 2010, the second roundtable of the Electric Vehicles Initiative (EVI) under the framework of the Clean Energy Ministers’ Conference (CEM) was held in Shenzhen 25th World Conference on Pure Electric Vehicles, Hybrid Electric Vehicles and Fuel Cell Vehicles (EVS25) ) We hold during period. About 20 representatives from China, the United States, Japan, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, and the International Energy Agency (IEA) attended the meeting. Director Zhang Zhihong of the High-tech Division of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the responsible comrades of the Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the China Automotive Engineering Society, the Shanghai Municipal Science Commission and the Shanghai International Automobile City Administrative Committee attended the meeting.

The meeting discussed the implementation plan of the electric vehicle initiative, including three parts of electric vehicle demonstration cities, public R&D investment information sharing for electric vehicle innovation, demonstration and promotion of electric vehicles, and best practice information sharing and research. At the meeting, the Chinese representative introduced the plan for the Shanghai (Shanghai) Electric Vehicle International Model City project in Jiading District, Shanghai. The representative of Portugal introduced the country’s electric vehicle development and related policies as a member of the latest EVI initiative. The meeting also preliminarily determined that during the April 2010 Shanghai International Auto Show, the first session of the World Electric Vehicle Demonstration City Forum and the 2nd Advanced Automobile Leaders Forum and the 3rd EVI Roundtable Conference will be held. Progress on EVI will be reported to the second Clean Energy Ministers' Meeting to be held in the United Arab Emirates next April.

The first meeting of the Clean Energy Ministers was held in Washington, USA, on July 19-20, 2010. Minister Wan Gang of the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology led a delegation. The meeting adopted 11 cooperation initiatives, including the initiative of China, the United States, the International Energy Agency, France, Germany, Japan, Spain, South Africa, and Sweden to participate in electric vehicles. From September 30 to October 1, 2010, the first EVI round table meeting and the first advanced automobile leaders forum were held during the Paris Motor Show in France. Minister Wan Gang of the Ministry of Science and Technology delivered a video speech at the forum, and related personnel of the Ministry of Science and Technology Chinese experts attended the roundtable. At the 25th World Electric Vehicles, Hybrid Vehicles and Fuel Cell Vehicles Conference and Exhibition (EVS25) held in Shenzhen from November 5th to 9th, Minister Wan Gang announced “Innovation Drive, Open Cooperation, and Cooperation in Creating Electric Vehicles” "The New Era" keynote speech emphasized that the international communication and cooperation will be further deepened, and the internationalization of electric vehicles will be promoted.
