Soil moisture analyzer to analyze the relationship between soil moisture and growth of sweet pepper

Crops are very sensitive to water deficit during growth and development. The decline of crop yield caused by drought is mainly reflected in the inhibition of physiological functions, resulting in a decrease in the efficiency of transportation and transformation of the product after irrigation. The effect of water deficit on the physiological functions of crops is not equal, mainly depends on the degree of water loss. The soil moisture tester is very scientific and accurate in determining soil moisture. It is indispensable for analyzing the relationship between sweet pepper and water.

The analysis of soil water content by soil moisture tester found that with the increase of soil moisture, the water potential of sweet pepper leaves increased significantly, which is mainly reflected in the soil moisture content of 65% to 75% Hf and 75% to 85% Hf treatment. There was a significant difference between 65% and 75% Hf and 55% to 65% Hf, while the leaf water potential difference between the two high moisture treatments and the leaf water potential difference between the two low moisture treatments were not significant. This shows that there is a close relationship between the leaf water potential of sweet pepper and soil water content, but the degree of response of leaf water potential is different, and the critical soil water content should be 65% to 75% Hf, higher than the critical water content and below the critical The leaf water potential of the water content changes in a threshold state. The changes of stomatal conductance, fresh water content, and cell fluid concentration in sweet pepper leaves were similar to the leaf water potential. They all exhibited the threshold change characteristics of critical water content, but the cell fluid concentration increased with soil water content. While decreasing, the chlorophyll content increased despite mild water stress [6], but it dropped sharply under severe water stress. This may be due to severe water stress leading to chlorophyll decomposition, so the change is complex. Visible, leaf water potential, leaf fresh water content, cell fluid concentration and stomatal conductance can better reflect the soil moisture status.

The suitable soil moisture content in the greenhouse pot bell pepper is between 65% and 75% Hf, below or above this moisture content will have an adverse effect on the crop. However, the degree of its influence is different. Under mild water stress, the drought stress signal substances (such as ABA) produced by the roots are transported through the xylem to the leaves and participate in the regulation of the stomata. It is the closed or partially closed stomata that affects the entry of photosynthetic substrates.

The soil moisture tester can generally find out that the soil water content of sweet pepper growth can be roughly found. When the soil moisture is higher than the appropriate water content, the physiological activity of the plant will decline, and even hinder the transportation and distribution of photosynthetic products. Seriously restricted the growth and development of sweet pepper, affecting its yield and quality.
