Problems faced:
1, Although the traditional weighing method has its advantages of high accuracy, but also has its drawbacks, for industrial sites frequently hundreds of tons or even thousands of tons of large-tonnage silo, ordinary weighing sensors, whether it is a column or other forms, Because it is installed on the bottom of the container, it will face the distress that it is difficult to replace after the failure. First of all, it is not an easy task to transport such a heavy warehouse. Second, the entire production process of the factory has to be stopped to wait for the completion of the replacement work. Time is the benefit of today and it is obviously unacceptable!


2. Non-contact measuring instruments such as ultrasonic level gauges or radar level gauges, which are installed on the top of the silo, are simple and convenient, but it is difficult to overcome the impact of small fine particles such as PTA powder in the chamber, whenever During feeding and discharging, the weak return or missing wave phenomenon is serious, and the measurement results are not good, and false alarms lead to material overflow or short positions.

Solution:
In response to these conditions at industrial sites, KM Corporation of the United States has introduced a popular patch-type load cell for continuous metering of container weights. It measures the stress level changes in the direct support of the container caused by material changes, and therefore does not It will be affected by side stacking, angle of repose, and airbags. Due to the quick and easy installation, this cost-effective non-intrusive method is very suitable for traditional material level monitoring.
The principle is very simple: the mechanical stress brought by the material change to the support structure is converted into an electrical signal that can be transmitted through high-precision components!

Of course, the patch sensor has certain requirements for the site installation location, for example, it needs to be a metal supporting structure—stainless steel, carbon steel, and aluminum. The form can be I-beam, angle iron, steel pipe, etc. The type of the warehouse can be many. L-cell is a high-sensitivity thermal stable semiconductor strain sensor. Its original bolt fixing technology (patch type) can be used on various types of bulk storage containers. This sensor does not use the traditional measurement method, but on the support leg structure measures the change in stress caused by the internal weight of the container. As long as the two L-cell sensors are bolted to the opposite side of the container's vertical support legs, the container becomes a weighing system. Loading the material into the container compresses the strain gauge, changes the L-cell sensor resistance, and generates an electrical signal that is commensurate with the weight change of the material.
The L-cell sensor allows quick and easy installation during container use. No empty containers need to be prepared for installation or calibration. Because it can be directly applied to the existing outrigger containers, L-cell sensors are undoubtedly a cost-effective weighing solution compared to other load cells that need to be retrofitted. Based on the above characteristics, in the initial stage of the project, the project contractor recommended to the owner of the KM company's patch weighing measurement system in the United States, and it has been proven in practical applications.

Effect:
Since Rongsheng Petrochemical's PTA project has been put into production since 2000, several sets of KistlerMorse's patch weighing systems applied in the field have been measured and stabilized, and basically do not require any maintenance. Its convenient use has provided reliable guarantee for the normal production of the company!
