Production process of light calcium carbonate (with process map)

Light calcium Carbonate is widely used in plastics, rubber, coatings, paper, ink, adhesives, pharmaceuticals and other fields, such as PVC pipes, plastic steel doors and windows, profiles, engineering plastics, architectural coatings, etc. It is a very important inorganic filler. Limestone is the main raw material for light calcium carbonate. The ordinary light calcium carbonate can be prepared by using limestone, and ultrafine and nano calcium carbonate can also be prepared. In addition, ultrafine active calcium carbonate can be prepared by surface modification.

The production process of ordinary light calcium carbonate is:

(1) calcining the limestone raw material to obtain calcium oxide and kiln carbon dioxide;

(2) Digesting calcium oxide, and pulverizing the generated suspended calcium Hydroxide under high shear force, separating multi-stage hydrocyclone to remove particles and impurities, and obtaining a certain concentration of refined calcium hydroxide suspension;

(3) with carbon dioxide gas, including suitable additives controlling crystal form, to the end of carbonation, to give the desired crystalline form of calcium carbonate slurry;

(4) Dehydration, drying and surface treatment of the slurry to obtain the desired light calcium carbonate product.
