According to market research firm Yole Developpement, the demand for a variety of MEMS (micro-electro-mechanical systems) and image sensors in the UAV and robot market will usher in an explosion during the next five years. "Through our research, we discovered that at least ten new applications for UAVs and robots will generate more than one billion U.S. dollars in revenue each year," Yole analyst Pierre Cambou said.
