On April 27th, the Sinopec Guangdong Petrochemical Refinery Construction Project, jointly funded by CNPC and Venezuela’s National Oil Company, officially commenced construction at the International Petrochemical Complex Industrial Park in Dayanghai, Jieyang, Guangdong. The Jieyang Chaoshan Airport and the Sinopec Guangdong Petrochemical Refinery Project are considered to be the two major engines for speeding up economic and social development in the eastern part of Guangdong. The world’s first one-time investment in the construction of 20 million tons of heavy oil crude oil refining capacity is a key construction project for the country and Guangdong Province. It is understood that after the project is put into operation, it will form a world-class petrochemical base with oil refining as its leader and refining and chemical industry in the eastern part of Guangdong Province, and comprehensively upgrade the supply capacity of petroleum products in the Pearl River Delta region of Guangdong as well as the neighboring provinces of Hunan and Jiangxi. According to the overall work plan of the project, all production facilities of the project will produce qualified products on December 31, 2014. It is understood that the Sino-Venezue joint venture Guangdong Petrochemical Project has settled in Dahaihai International Petrochemical Industrial Park in Jieyang City (Huilai), Guangdong Province. The plant covers an area of ​​approximately 5 square kilometers; the construction scale is 20 million tons/year, and a total of 29 sets of supporting construction process equipment , as well as 300,000 tons of crude oil docks and 3 to 50,000 tons of product docks. According to reports, at the same time as the construction of the project, the Jieyang Seaport Economic Zone was fully launched, and Jinghai Bay Port Equipment Manufacturing, Jinhai Bay Eco-tourism Comprehensive Development, and CLP Investment and Logistics Co., Ltd., as well as the infrastructure and supporting industries in Huilai County, have also started construction.
