The analysis data of the start-up site of the oxidation tail gas treatment project of the phenol plant of Jilin Petrochemical Company showed that the benzene consumption of pure benzene was reduced by 2.5 kg/ton and the propylene consumption was decreased by 1.5 kg/ton, and there was a trend of further decrease. The Jilin Petrochemical Phenolic Plant Oxidation Tail Gas Project is an environmental protection project. It adopts the advanced technology of low-temperature condensation recovery and catalytic oxidation of tail gas to treat organic matter in the phenol-acetone tail gas with a treatment capacity of 15,700 standard cubic meters per hour. The amount of benzene is 500 tons. The project relied on existing installations and public works of the installation, reformed a set of tail gas cryogenic condensation recovery system, built a new set of tail gas catalytic oxidation treatment system, and added a new ammonia compression refrigeration unit with a higher coefficient of refrigeration to solve the long-term freezers. There was no preparation for the issue; an air compressor was replaced to replace the original three sets of high-consumption air compressors, saving 1.44 million kWh annually.

After more than two months of operation, the Oxidation Tail Gas Treatment project achieved the expected results. While significantly reducing pollutant emissions, it also recovered some of the materials, significantly reduced the device's major material consumption, and achieved both social and economic benefits.
