Many tire industry environmental standards will be introduced one after another


In March this year, China's first green tire self-discipline standard "green tire technical specifications" issued by the China Rubber Industry Association began trial implementation. The specification proposes clean production technical indicators, water pollutants and atmospheric pollutant emission limits, and recommends 18 green tire production processes.

Zhu Hong, director of the Technical and Economic Committee of the China Rubber Industry Association, recently pointed out that the “Technical Specifications for Green Tires” stated that the formulation of the “Standards” laid the technical foundation for the formulation of the upcoming China Tire Classification and Labeling Law.

Zhu Hong said that the development of a number of tire industry environmental standards is in progress.

The preparation and reporting of the “Cleaner Production Evaluation Index System for the Tire Industry” will be completed in October of this year. The National Development and Reform Commission will be implemented in the entire industry after its release. The comments on the various aspects of the “Green Tire Technical Specification” will be collected and consolidated during the trial period and completed in November. And put forward opinions and suggestions for handling and continuing to improve the “Green Tire Technical Specification”; the preparation of the green raw material guidebook was completed in December. At the same time, guidelines for environmental protection raw materials were issued; related product technical indicators, grading standards, test methods, and related procedures for the green tire labeling system Documents, indoor and outdoor laboratory certifications and other related documents will be prepared by the end of 2015.

It is understood that, in addition to the tire industry, other sub-sectors in the rubber industry have also been included in the preparation of self-discipline standards for the “Environmental Recycling Rubber” Association.

Cao Qingxin, secretary general of the Waste Rubber Comprehensive Utilization Branch of the China Rubber Industry Association, told reporters that at the beginning of August, according to regional division, the association organized more than 10 reclaimed rubber production enterprises to provide reclaimed rubber samples to the Rubber and Chemical Industry Rubber and Recycling Products Quality Supervision and Inspection Center. The inspection was conducted to obtain the gap between the current environmental protection reclaimed rubber and the requirements of the European Union's REACH regulation for the determination of heavy metals and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) limits. The reference was then made to the “Recycling Rubber Industry Cleaner Production Level Evaluation” content and industry opinions were solicited.

In October, the association will complete the formulation of the “Environmental Recycling Adhesive Association Self-discipline Standard” in line with China’s national conditions. After being reviewed by experts from the Technical Economic Committee of the China Rubber Industry Association, it will be reported to the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and the Rubber and Rubber Standards Commission for record.

At the end of 2014, the "Environmental Recycling Association Self-discipline Standard" will be released by the China Rubber Industry Association to the society.
